At the end of 2016 HSM relocated to our new home at Pakuranga Intermediate School, 43-49 Reeves Rd, Pakuranga.

2016 marked the 50th Anniversary of the foundation of the Howick School of Music. This was a very exciting year for all those involved with the Howick School of Music and we celebrated this milestone at our end of year concert with our community of friends and family. 1996 marked the 30th Anniversary of the HSM. In 1993, Kathryn Gatland began our PIP course, a musical introduction for 5-6 year olds. Our IDP followed on from this success giving 7-8 year olds the opportunity to experiment with different instruments including Voice, Recorder, Violin, Guitar, Keyboard and Tuned Percussion.

The Music School underwent much growth and development in the 1980’s. On 25th February, 1982, the Music School became an Incorporated Society. In the late 1980’s Senior Tutor of Violin, Euan Murdoch and Violin tutor, Adrienne van Drimmelen developed the String Group Classes during the week which are still running to this day.
